You don't have to be in Hawaii to celebrate a luau. Hawaiian-themed decorations, pineapple- or coconut-flavored foods and Polynesian music can create a festive Hawaiian atmosphere in your own backyard. For an adult event, add grass skirts and alcoholic drinks such as Mai Tais to the mix, or include games such as the limbo or hula hoops for a younger crowd. Use a luau to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or graduation in a unique way.
